Teaching

I am very lucky to have had wonderful experiences as both a teacher and student. The pursuit of any task can have meaningful results. My objective as a teacher is to inculcate my students with an understanding of goal-oriented action; a lesson that not only pertains to music, but any studied practice. What we learn about the world and ourselves through music gives us better tools to navigate any undertaking.

Private students have auditioned successfully for or currently participate in:

  • Indiana State School Music Association Solo and Ensemble (Gold)
  • Juilliard Pre-College
  • Juilliard Music Advancement Program
  • New Jersey Youth Symphony
  • Manhattan School of Music, Bachelor of Music
  • Connecticut Music Educators Association All State Festival
  • Interlochen Arts Camp
  • Delaware County (PA) Young Musicians Orchestra

I offer lessons on Skype, privately in person, as well as through the institutions listed below. Email me at chrispearlberg@gmail.com for more information.

lmc-1The Luzerne Music Center is an international summer music festival, offering programs for those aged 9-18. Campers work closely with LMC’s faculty through daily chamber music coachings, private lessons once a week, intense orchestral studies, solo recital preparation, and music theory. Students also have the opportunity to take private lessons on a secondary instrument, jazz courses, conducting studies, and composition lessons. LMC’s campus is a true summer camp experience, with beach access to Lake Luzerne, cabin style camping, daily outdoor activities. You will never run out of things to do at Luzerne!
